Dr. Simpson is a Senior Lecturer and, currently, the Head of Department of Accounting at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Legon.

He holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and has been a lecturer, researcher and consultant for over a decade, with specialisation in Public Sector Financial Management, Corporate Governance and Sustainability Accounting.

He has over the years consulted for a wide range of clients, including universities, the World Bank, the German Development Organisation (GTZ-GIZ), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee (IMCC) on Local Governance, and the Ghana Oil and Gas for Inclusive Growth (GOGIG) of Oxford Policy Management.
